I'll be posting pictures soon !!!

Just found this sweet thang in a local pawn shop today.

The former owner put emg pups in it and sure it has all the power you could want and then some, but I will be trading them out for real Tele tones.

The nitro neck is soooooo sticky, the body has just enough living on it to make it look as if its been around 50 plus years, but well cared for, so I guess you would call it closet classic ????

I wonder if its got a humbucker route in the neck ???

if it does it will be perfect for my project I nearly started with my MIM.

Well here she is.

I am on the hunt for new electronics to put it back where it belongs !!!

The active emg's would be great for metal, just not my thing.

Thanks guys !!!

now help me decide what to put in the bridge to bring it back to Tele tones.
The EMG's are way to dark for me, sounds like a les paul.

I still thing I'm going to put the pearly gates in the neck.

According to one of my Fender source books it is a 1985 to 1986 manufacture date.

and with the fact that it was transplanted with the emg's just how much re-wiring am I going to have to do ???

are those early Japan pots going to be O.K. and what value tone caps should be in there ?????

If there is a Tele guy out there willing to help me get this old girl back in line, I could sure use the help !!!!

does Fender sell a complete pickup set with pots and caps for a tele ???

Not to be personal, how much were you able to steal the tele for?

Like i mentioned earlier its about 22 years old, one nice chip in the paint just south of the control plate.

little dings all over it and the frets need a makeover, but you cant tell when you play it.

It is just what I was looking for and I could not believe for one it was still in the pawn shop I had seen it in over six month ago in a town not too far from me and secondly the guy at the counter was willing to sell it for $100 bucks less than the ticket price which is about 200 less than the last one I saw online for sale.

I think I am going to go for a set of Tex Mex Tele pups for now to see if it gives the chime and spank I'm looking for.

I'll consider the pearly gates in the neck later in the winter when things slow up a bit and i have time to experiment.

Still don't know if I should stick with its original pots and caps ?????

This is going to be my gigging out guitar when I get done, it just has the coolest vibe!!!!!

Update, I purchased some 08 U.S.A. standard pups from a reliable fender parts seller.

I will do an upgrade on pots and the three way also.

what tone cap to use is still under investigation.

I believe the finish is nitro ? anyone who can confirm ?

it is a serial # A plus six digits and so it must be 1985 to 1986

there is a huge rust stain under teh bridge that will not clean up after several attempts, its hidden and so dosen't bother me too much.

any way it is a bare body and neck at the moment awaiting new internal organs to breath new life back into it.
