Welcome to the forum. If you do a search, you'll see that there are several polls and threads about this topic...and after you've been here awhile, you get tired of seeing the Fender Vs Gibson poll or debate every few days. This is a Fender Forum, most so that means that most likely things will be in favor of Fender. No poll needed.

Ya your right there! You no Fender will get the most votes just as on the Gibson forum Gibson would get the most. Polls like this are meaningless because the demonstrate nothing. Plus it is always Fender against Gibson never against Paul Reed Smith or Schecter, how about G & L who makes guitars just like the Fenders with there G L S500, ASAT, Comanche then you have the G & L Tribute series as well.

yes this is a fender home base for fender people but if you're like me you may have multi guitars, some old some new none borrowed and maybe one that's blue, i love all my fenders & i love all my gibsons & i love my prs & i love my de armond & i love my guild, so what's the question, this much i do know fender is more friendly price wise for the common man then gibson, i think gibson is way over the top price wise, a chicken in every pot, a car in every driveway & a fender in every home

I have a lot of Fender guitars and a lot of Gibson guitars.
Gibson is dead in quality since 1967.
point.

My main problem with these poles is as I said earlier it is always Gibson compared to Fender. They are completely different types of guitars that sound nothing alike. But if you take an American made G & L and compare it to and American made Fender that would make sense but for the fact that not as many own the G & L brand because it is not as availible as the Fender everyware. Or even the G & L Tribute line compared to the made in MIM Fenders. They are so much alike in sound and looks but for the head stock being just a litte different. Remember G & L was started by Leo Fender and George Fullerton and Leo always said they were the best guitars he ever made.

This is an interesting question but we should remember that Leo was a country music fan to begin with. The feedback he got from the C&W musicians using his Tele led to the Strat design that we know today.
