I currently only own American fenders.
I ordered a Jim Root Tele (MIM tele).
Can I expect a level of quality on par
with a MIA fender? Are the signatures
made to a higher grade or by like a
mexican custom shop or somwething?
Any personal experiances/pictures/reviews
would be awesome....

I personally like the Mexicans BETTER than the Americans. Although the Americans have better pups, they also have that retarded gloss finish on the fretboard. Pickups can be changed but its harder to fix something like that.

Hello Bucketbuddy,

I never had a problem with
the mexico Fenders, I've
had a few they're good guitars.

American made Fender is a better
overall instrument in my opinion.

Jim Root axes are what they are.
If you don't like it send it back,
but I think your gona keep it
they are cool.

Cheers.

My baja is a decent instrument, by no means perfect. Mexican guitars have improved 100fold between now and 1995(the last time i bought one). They are getting closer to american instruments and aren't too short of the mark. I dont see £800 price difference between my baja and vintage hotrod in quality. £200 is more the mark, a bit on the fret dressing, pots are good but could be better. Nothing to worry about anyway.

All in all, if i wanted the guitar it wouldn't bother me where it was made. I'd play one and weigh up the cost to the quality whilst i played it.
I bought a guitar without playing it once, i'll never do it again.

All the MIMs are exceptionally well made, IMO...

The MIM's are very well made guitars. Especially the higher end models. I've played several that belong to friends and there isn't any glaring quality flaw. I'm an MIA guy myself (better electronics and that extra fret) but I am seriously considering the Jim Root Tele myself.
