During the '80s Fender made 50 of these Teles. I am unable to find any information on whether or not the guitars were custom painted or if it a marbled paper decopage similar to the Paisley and Flower Power Teles was used.
Does anyone have any information about these guitars. I'm thinking about building one and would like some direction.
Thanks

It's a paint process. From what I understand it's simular to the way that they made marbled end papers in old books. Peace. J.J.B.

I knew a guy in my town back in the 70's that had the Paisley Tele. Back in those days you had to pay extra for that Paisley pattern. He was doing stuff like Steppenwolf. Cream, James Gang and all other types of other hard rock stuff on it. Sounded great!

There is a company that makes custom guitars called Stone Tone Guitars and they actually glue a thin layer of real marble on top of the body. Not a faux finish, but real expensive italian marble. The lead gutar player for "Sugarland" bought one about a year ago.. They look really cool.

I don't think I've ever seen one, but it must look something like this Strat?

From what I have read there was 50 Teles and 250 Strats made. There was one on Ebay not too long ago. I don't know what it fell for but it wasn't cheap. 2.5-3K I think. Peace. J.J.B.
