haha...see? it'll even give you the excuse to "have to change pickups" in your highway 1, which sounds like you'll be absolutely heartbroken about ;). I personally LOVED the pups in the highway 1 tele and almost bought one because of the way they sounded...don't know if I was right in not buying it yet, but I really shouldn't have spent the money, so I guess it was the right choice :(...
Oh yeah, and if they don't fit anyway, its a mini strat, break out the power tools! Even if you make a mistake, a new pick guard should be cheap and the wood will be hidden behind the pickguard anyway, so...hey, gibson would charge a FORTUNE for the tone chambers ;)

That's something I'd like to see. Specs can't be seen from the picture include: jumbo or xtra jumbo frets, mini-switches for killing and coil splitting, locking tuners, ergonomic heel and perhaps scallops.. If I get enough money I'm going to order a guitar like this from the Custom Shop :D Comments please?

I take your comment as a compliment, so thank you :D Forgot to mention some specs that can't be seen from the picture: jumbo or xtra jumbo frets, mini-switches for killing and coil splitting, locking tuners, ergonomic heel and perhaps scallops :)

I'm easily pleased - I just want a MIM in natural finish to be added to the lineup so those of us outside of USA have the chance to get hold of one.
GC/MF don't ship internationally so the FSR is not an option here and I would prefer MIM over a Lite Ash.

Exactly, Plain Jane original design, for the student type model.

I think that this is a great idea. I recently asked a poll question on whether the '69 or '72 thinline is better, and I wish that fender could make some sort of compromise between the two.

My idea is this:

Take the s-1 switching system from the American Deluxe series and apply that idea it to '72. It is a pretty simple idea, but it would change everything. Instead of having to worry about what pickups are in it, the feel becomes more important because you can just split the coils on humbucker and turn it into the classic tele sound, or you can go from classic tele to humbucking '72.

I'm the kinda player that likes to change pickup variations a lot in between songs and in the middle of songs, so with all of these extra options, it is like telecaster heaven for me.

So thats my thought on the subject.

I'd also like to add the suggestion of a 12 string Tele.

I just posted a new topic before I saw this one. But that'll help stress to Fender that I really want an Andy Summers Artist model with the pickups, the preamp and the phase switches!!! A limited edition expensive tribute model only goes to a few rich and influential people. But starving musicians like the rest of us want a cool guitar like that, too. I can live without the cosmetic aging touches, the Anvil case, the videos, etc. I just want that guitar!
