Hi All, this is my first post so please be gentle :D
My son has just a secondhand American performer Tele sh. The Humber on the neck is fine but there is a lot of buzzing noise from the single coil on the bridge . This seems to stop when touching the pull push controller volume. I have been quoted £80 to £150 to sort the issue and set it up but thought this was a bit steep any ideas??? Thanks

If you're capable, check the wiring & solder points, resolder if in doubt with anything. The push-pull pot would be the likely culprit, but all ground points might have something to do with the problem.
Here's the service diagram: https://www.fmicassets.com/Damroot/Orig ... _REV_A.pdf

And if you don't have the skills&tools, a pro will charge that kind of €£$, that's just how it is.

Did your amp have a good ground at cable and at wall outlet ?

To check solder you may have some electronic skill/ experience. Most of the time, the only thing we can do is reheat solder. You may not see bad solder with your eyes.

With ohmeter, check resistance between bridge plate and output jack nut ; 0 ohms
