I need some advice for changing the bridge on my 60 year anniversary MIM Fender Telecaster.

I want to swap the Block-Steel Bridge Saddles for Fender 3-saddle American Vintage Telecaster Bridge Assembly - Chrome.

1. Do I need to take this to a Luthier or can I do this myself? (it seems easy to do)
2. What is the Block-Steel Bridge Saddles worth? (Luthier states he wants to buy it if I swap to the tradition bridge)

Do you know " standard" 3 saddles bridge make guitar tuning and intonation inaccurate ?
3 saddles with compensated saddles may help.

Why do you want ;
1- Replace your bridge ?
2- 3 saddles bridge ?

On other forum somebody tell this one will fit ; $37
The 3-saddle Fender American Vintage Bridge (https://www.sweetwater.com/store/de...c ... bly-chrome) will fit.

Read on Goggle ;
" Fender upgraded Made in Mexico 60th Anniversary Telecaster. Upgrades include Seymour Duncan Antiquity 60's Twang for Telecaster pickups, vintage three saddle bridge, vintage string tree, and locking tuners. "

Funny, I read that as "...buy the guitar" and couldn't work out why you would need to swap the bridge, but then realised you probably meant he would buy the original bridge if you changed it...Doh!

Actually . . .that was a red flag! I will stick with this bridge. The quality and intonation is dead on! Thx 4 sharing your input!

I don't agree. I think a Tele should have the 3 saddle bridge, it is part of what makes it a Tele.

There are a lot of different compensated saddles available which are ground so that the string contact point is off set left to right if intonation is a problem. I also wonder if the two string saddles add to a Telecasters ability to sustain due to a firmer contact with the bridge plate.

One of my Teles is a top loader, which is a slightly different beast due to the low string break over angle, but the individual saddles were a nightmare as strings would only get firm contact through one of the height screws on some of the strings. Changing to a three saddle bridge was a big improvement.
