My 2011 MIM Telecaster is not playing . Its not the amp. Both of my amps work fine. When I slightly tapped the bridge I heard a sound as I strummed the strings for a few seconds......and no sound there after. I am almost certain it is electrical. Anyone here have a general idea what it is . . . or what needs to be done?

I am not the most mechanical person . . . but my intuition tells me there is bad connection or short.
I was hoping to play this Telecaster on Christmas day too.

So no sound at all? Different selector switch positions make no difference? Hum from amp louder than usual? Cable plugs into guitar and doesn't feel loose?

Can you remove 2 screws from control plate and carefully lift out and take a picture? May be a loose wire or short like you said.

Cheers

1. Test with a different cable
2. Check the wires on the output jack

Any help?

100 % right.

1- Is cable is loose in input jack ?
2- Any mods on guitar ?

Thanks Guys! 100% correct! I went to the Guitar Center and the Luthier plugged into the amp. And everything was fine. It was a bad chord after all! Luckily I have the chord with a lifetime warranty....so I was able to swap it out! Thanks to all who responded. One cool thing about this minor ordeal . . . . was I got to take apart the Telecaster and see the wiring . . . and actually learn how its put together. It's not rocket science. Smart design that has stood the test of time. Kudos to product development! Again....thanks forum friends for your support and input! I am glad you are here!

Chord as in cord as in cable, I think. Just language barriers.

Anyways, glad if we were any help - I love happy endings. Play on, play LOUD.

Louis, it's not the French speaking bad here. I appreciate your input. Maybe it is English to blame. Chord? Cord? Cable? Too many words for the same thing, in my opinion. Never the less, I wish you a very Happy new Year.

Cheers,
vinyl

P.S. My wishes for a very Happy new year to everyone on the Forum.

Thanks,
