Hi all,

I just purchased a tele with a dubious story, but I didn't pay a lot haha
I was hoping some of you knowledgeable folks could help me identify what I have. Story goes that it's an original fender body (from the 80s-90s) and the original owner replaced the neck, bridge and electronics with genuine fender parts. I haven't opened it up (my first tele:oops:) but he said it has Texas special pickups inside.

The lack of serial number, genuine neck plate or bridge make it hard to tell, the top binding makes me think American deluxe but those seem newer? what should I look for when I take it apart to help identify the authenticity?

Thanks in advance!

!EDIT!
Excuse my fender forum newness, it took a few days for the post to be approved and I didn't realize the pics didn't work. Hopefully the links work now

Helping is easier with pics on the forum...
Quote:
First you need to upload your pics to the internet. Use a pic hosting site (imgur, imgbb or such - avoid photobucket) or some common web framework like e.g. facebook, googlephotos - whatever you're familiar with.
The important thing is that the web site provides you with a pic address - that's the one starting with 'http' or 'https' and ending in '.jpg' .

Copy the pic address, and use the IMG-command (visible when you write a message) on the forum.

Preview your post so everything is OK.

Watching your photos in this way is very unpleasant. You have to put them directly on the forum.
