Hi guys,

Just got a pair of Twisted Tele pickups and they really do sound amazing. However, I've been struggling a bit in setting up the correct pickup height. Also, there seems to be quite a volume difference between neck and bridge pickup - the latter being the loudest.

What would you guys recommend regarding pickup height? I know Fender official recommended specs, but I'm not quite sure if the Twisted Tele would fall into the "vintage" category or the "Texas Special" one - or something in between.

Think more Texas Special - the DCR for both bridge pickups is 10.5K

stratmangler, for bridge yes. On the other hand, DCR for for neck is 5.9K on Twisted Tele while 9.5 on the Texas Special.

Drop the bridge pickup until it sounds about right in conjunction with the neck pickup.
You'll have to listen to things as you drop the pickup, and stop if it starts sounding thin.
Don't forget that there's much more string movement at the body/neck end of things, and greater string excursion equals higher output.

DCR measurement is merely an indicator of possible pickup output - it is not a definitive indication.
