Any experiences? Pros/cons? There's a few floating around locally. US worth the extra bucks?

I'd expect them all to be great and the newer they are the greater they will be.....probably.

Not so sure about that John...that's why I asked "really".
If there's "a few floating around locally" ('72 RI Telecaster Custom) in his small area of the world...something must be wrong with them for everyone wanting to get rid of them.

However; if there IS a few out there at your disposal, go play one or two of each and pick the one that suits your hands and ears. I tend to lean towards Mexican, because Japanese is VERY hard to get ahold of around here...and I DON'T think USA is worth the extra coin versus todays Mexican quality. I hate saying that because it always sparks an argument---and that horse has been beat to death on these boards.

Hence my comment "Newer the better." New MiM's are quality instruments, if you look at older versions it becomes more of a crap shoot.

MiJs are potentially top notch but again this all assumes that the guitars being offered are exactly what they purport to be.
