Hi relientgtad, welcome to the forum.

In order to help you out we'll need a bit more information such as where it was made, some pictures would help too.

You can probably get some good information by sending your serial number to Fender customer relations and ask them what they can tell you about the guitar.

Based on the tuners, saddles, and truss rod adjustment opening, that is not a US or Mexican made Tele.
It may not be an actual Fender product.
Remote possibility it is Japanese, but I more strongly suspect it is an Asian copy with an eBay decal added to the neck.
It should have a serial number on the neck or the neck plate, as well as the country of origin.
Value? Depending on whether or not it is a legit Japanese Fender, anywhere from $150 to maybe $500.

I'd say that's a (re-logoed & disguised) Squier Affinity Tele, Butterscotch Blonde, https://shop.fender.com/en-US/squier-el ... l?rl=ja_JP

That sounds like a good call and might be the best option. The tuners on the OP's images are different to the sales images but are none the less very Squier like.

The body looks like it might be Poplar and I don't think the MiM or MiA factories would produce a three piece body with that (mis)matching in a clear finish (if it was Alder).

The neck is missing a skunk strip or truss rod hole finisher which suggests it is not from the American continent.

While not a Fender doesn't mean it isn't a great guitar to play. Subject to how long the OP has had it you could perhaps add a few years to that to date it.

Do not sell it I sold my first electric (to buy my second) and 40 years later bought a version of the same guitar I sold. It has been molested, and does nothing but hang on the wall, but still makes me think of my childhood when ever I look at it. I may yet undertake a full refurb on it which will most likely cost me more than I paid for it but hey.

That "got it as a kid" should make this Tele at least a couple of years old, so tuners' model/appearance may have changed.

I'll fully agree on the "not a Fender doesn't mean it isn't a great guitar to play". A Telecaster is such a simple wonderful design that even the cheaper FMIC versions can be good. Since it was received as a gift, the purchase price doesn't matter, so an investment in a professional setup might be wise; that's about 80-100$€£ and well worth it.
And BTW, I also agree that one's first guitar should not be sold. (Well, if possible, no guitar one owns should...)

BTW, Affinities often have an alder body. Same with Classic Vibes. (The black nut makes me lean towards the Affinity.)

Hey team,

Thanks for all of the great replies. I suspected that it wasn’t a real fender given some of the reasons states (namely, nothing on the back of the headboard.)

Also, I did get the tuners replaced last year (guy at the shop also said “I’m not sure what this guitar is)

I’m 24 and got it as a gift at maybe 16, so it’s certainly older.
All this said, my prized possession is still beautiful Martin 00-15...

On the money as always.

I recently found out the 50's Classic Vibes have Pine bodies, just like the originals, so potentially a more accurate reproduction than some of the more expensive offerings. It has left me with the thought that I must try one to see how it feels.
