Mine's the sound of the typical tele brige pickup and a p-90 in the neck position. There's not a lot of p-90 options in the Fender lineup, and that makes me sad. My next choice is the configuration of the Nashville.

My new Am Standard!!!!!! A close second is my Hot Rails/Quarter Pounder
rig in my Hwy 1. The Hwy 1's bone stock have a very cool sound. I'm still not used to the SCN's. Must be my geezerdom kicking in. Peace. J.J.B.

I like both of the listed, but EMG has a tele series, and I really want it. Sounds good too.

I wouldn't mod the pickups at all. I mean if your buying a Tele keep it stock for that authentic Tele sound, either that or go out and buy a heavy metal Jackson guitar.

Seymour Duncan 1/4 pounders in the neck and bridge. Same great Telecaster tone ON STEROIDS.

It's a toss up for me. I love my Baja Telecaster's custom shop Twisted Tele neck and Broadcaster bridge pickups with 4 way switching and S-1 but the Tex Mex pickups on my Nashville Tele with 5 way switching and a Strat pickup in the middle position also sounds great. I'll choose both.

I'm a long time Strat player who has fallen in love with the Telecaster the past 3 years. Next up is putting a set of Fender's Samarium Cobalt Noiseless pickups in a MIM Standard.

John

Hi:

I somewhat agree with you, BUT whenever I have changed pickups on a Fender or Squier...I put Fender pickups in as replacements. Keeps most of the value up. But on the gear I have and love I won't sell them so re-sale isn't an option.

I prefer the vintage sound so I like the Vintage Tele pickups the best.

I love the sound of my 1989 Fender American Vintage 52' Telecaster. The pickups are perfect for me. Everything is stock except the modern wiring conversion done aftermarket. I have to say it is of better quality than anything I have played today. I do happen to like brad paisley's neck pickup tone. not for sure what is there but it isn't stock. :D :o
