Just picked up an unassuming Tele today. Didn't give it much thought, haven't had a fender guitar recently. Played it low volume in the shop, bought it took it home. Didn't expect anything except a basic workhorse. Can't believe how good it is, by 10x the best guitar I've owned it's the duck nuts. I'll post some pics soon

No pictures, it never happened ;-)

I know exactly what you mean about Telecasters. It was 40 years of playing before I bought my first and now wonder if I will buy anything else.

I love it's simplicity, unassuming looks, heritage, the way it plays and off course the way it sounds.

Ok so I need a photo bucket account. Leave it with me have a few computer issues to sort might be a day or two. In the mean time I'm vibing out on this amazing guitar. It has two very distinctive traits - beautiful tone and very forgiving, you do your best to unsettle it and it just goes "is that all you got? We're just getting started" it's crazy good, not sure if I'm coming from a run of fussy guitars in the last few years or whether this truly is Excalibur, that urban myth where one guitar from the batch just comes together right and it gets sold as a concert instrument. Dunno. This one needs everything done to it, nut's rough, frets are seriously worn, action too high and intonations out a bit, but it plays like the devil. I'm not going to touch the setup - doesn't need it. For the record it's a '76, maple neck, natural body, black scratch plate, apart from the jack input and connecting wire it's original.
