Just got a Classic Player Baja Telecaster. It has a Custom Shop Broadcaster Single-Coil in the bridge position.
When I use this PU (or any combination that uses the bridge PU) with a distortion box, the guitar goes big time microphonic on me. Squeels like crazy. Only with the stomp box. Only with the Bridge PU.
I also have a Nashville tele, a Hamer with soapbars and an SG with HB and I dont go microphonic with them. Anyone experience this or have a remedy?
Thanks, John

Although I don't use a distortion pedal, I think if you turn down the treble tone could help. It won't completely get rid of the microphonic effect, but it may help.

From an online store ad -

"The original Tele pickups had more twang than any two "normal" guitars, thanks to the single coil pickups in the bridge and neck positions. The Classic Player Baja Telecaster sports Custom Shop '69 pickups with a Twisted Tele rhythm pickup and a Broadcaster bridge pickup. On top of the custom pickups, the Classic Player Baja Tele is wired with a special 4-position blade switch and a 2-position S-1 switch. This custom configuration gives you tonal options ranging from classic Tele to series and parallel out-of-phase tones, along with special fat tones and high-output settings."

Maybe try tweaking the settings -

S-1 Switch Up:

Position 1. Bridge Pickup

Position 2. Bridge and Neck Pickups (In Parallel)

Position 3. Neck Pickup (Standard Tele)

Position 4. Neck and Bridge Pickups (In Series) (Fatter Tone Than Position 2. and More Output Than Position 1., 2., or 3.)

S-1 Switch Down:

Position 1. Bridge Pickup

Position 2. Bridge and Neck Pickups (In Parallel)-Out of Phase

Position 3. Neck Pickup (Standard Tele)

Position 4. Neck and Bridge Pickups (In Series) Out of Phase

You know, I've had the same problem once. I don't have a dirt box in my rig, but I played my Baja through a friend's setup that has a Big Muff and I got what I think you are describing. I just switched to the neck pickup alone. It sounded much better anyway with the fuzz. I don't have a real remedy for that, though.
