Knowing that there are many different style brigdes being used on Teles, I have noticed that many of the American bridges have only four screws across the bottom. I have both an 08 American Standard Tele and a recently acquired 00 Squier Standard Series Tele. Both of them have five screws that attach the bridge to the body. What's the reason behind this?

The new Hwy1 Tele's also have the the four hole "vintage" bridge. When I went to up grade the bridge it was kind of a hasle. I'm very happy with the Wilkinson compensated that I put on it, but with the vintage spacing my choices were limited. peace. J.J.B.
