Hello Fender community, I recently acquired a Fender Telecaster. I do not play electric guitar so I would like to sell it, but I have no clue what it is worth. Could anyone help me out with this? I know it is not an official appraisal, but just trying to get an idea what I could sell it for. It is a heavy thicker wood body and says on the top of it. Telecaster DES. 164.227 PAT. 2,573,254, 2,784,631. Can you help me out?

Don't forget Mexico! Serial number starts with MX.

One thing you could do is take it to guitar/music stores in your area that sell on consignment, they should be able to give you an idea on what they think they can sell it for. Then make sure you ask them what their fees are which could run 20-30% of the selling price if you decide to let them sell it for you.

Yep.
Depending on what it is, where it was made, how old it is, and the condition, it could be worth anywhere from $50 to $50,000.
It is likely worth somewhere between $200 and $2000, but we have no way of knowing what you have, or even if what you have is a real Fender Tele and not a "Partscaster"
