If it's yours?

Contact George Gruhn's music in Nashville, probably the best guy in the industry for this.
Do not show this guitar to anyone who knows what it is unless you know they are legit.
Do not just walk into a guitar show with it.
Bring an escort at all times.

You're thinking about buying it?
If you have to ask here, it is not a wise purchase. Without being personally evaluated by Gruhn, you and I lack the skill to confirm the authenticity and value.

I can tell you that in that condition, if 100% original, it would be worth well over that price.
However, it was refinished and then "restored"... that hurt the value.

Some things are concerning though. The position of the decal bothers me... can't say anything positive, just a feeling. Also I' not sure I've ever seen a single-slot truss rod adjustment nut.
As for the pencil marks on the heel?
Some of these may or may not be authentic, some may or may not be faked.
Initials and signatures can certainly change and evolve over time, but these first two necks were supposedly made only 3 months apart, and the initials, dashes, and "53" are completely different.

No, it's not mine nor do I want to buy. Just thought people might want to check it out. If true, WOW! Very Cool! Love it when they come with original documents and stories.

IMO, it's odd to sell something of this caliber on Craigslist. Ebay or Reverb would be better suited, although more costly of course.

Also, it showed up on my cleveland craigslist but not on the buffalo site , which is where its supposed to be located. Also to list it as "older guitar" , seems odd.

Yep... way too many things are way too fishy for me to even consider it.
At that price, the seller seems to know what it should be worth, but selling on CL is fishy.
I was able to find some other examples with the single slot truss adjuster, but they don't seem to be common or consistent among '53.
