There are way more topics in the Stratocaster forum than in here, so let's show them we know what a good guitar, the Telecaster, really is. 8)

BTW, I posted in the Strat forum that we Tele players probably "play our guitars" more than post on the interwebs which is why the topics are so much lower.

I like this Tele forum the way it is. It's not chock full of pointless crap day after day like some of the others.

Like I said on the other post there is just not as many Teles out there becase most people who go shop and get ther first guitar go with a Strat if they buy Fender. That said out of all the guitars I have the Tele gets the most play time by me. I have a Vintage White Amer. Tele. which looking at the products page looks like they are not making the Vintage White anymore unless I am just missing something. I Like the Vin.Wht. and the Blonde colors and I a planing on making one in Shamrock Green with a Mint guard and nickel hdw one day.

I love the Telecaster for everything it is. The shape, the tone, the controls location, the headstock different from all the rest, and especially the history that goes with it.

Strats are more popular and Telecasters are more of an acquired taste, but once you acquire the taste, you go crazy and get 8 Telecasters in less than 2 years, or at least thats what I did...

Hi Miami Mike,

I own a few Strats and a mex tele.

This tele has never wronged
me in 11 years, but lately that
GE Smith model has been haunting me.

Maybe next year if I still
have the bug..

Cheers.

Hi Mr Bill, I agree with you about that GE Smith model, but also like the Danny Gatton, James Burton and especially that Merle Haggard signature model (that I've seen Ronnie Dunn and Shooter Jennings using recently).

Hey Miami Mike,

That Merle Haggard Signature

Fender catalogue and saw it's

Cheers.

I love both guitars even though I own a Strat, I played in a band with a guy and the other guitarist had a Tele. I love 'em both.

I have a Strat and just purchased my American Deluxe Tele (sunburst w/ maple neck), if I am incredibly impressed with the tone, which I expect to be, I will be ordering another in the cherry burst with pearloid pickguard. I also us a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe amp.
