Hi,

Does anyone know what years the american vintage reissues stopped using G&G cases?

I’ve got a 2014 52 Tele with the central neck support and 2 internal pockets, not a G&G. I thought I read somewhere that fender changed to a different case but it would seem like they are once again using G&G on the American originals.

Any info appreciated,

Thanks!

You can still get a G&G case for your Tele, but there's been some
controversy about their quality lately.

Definitely.
I bought a tweed Fender (G&G) case for my Partscaster in the 90s and it was very nice.
I recently bought a black with red plus case for a current project. The fitment is OK, though one latch is on the ragged edge.
The black wrapping on the ends is more of a satin finish than the original caps. It is also a bit thicker it seems. There is noticeable "bunching" as it wraps the ends and the stitching/piping is just not quite as nice.
It will work for its purpose (matching case for a Partscaster rebuild of my '78 Antigua), but I would not gig with it. The ABS Fender case with TSA locks is much more sturdy.

The current tweed cases on Amazon are inexpensive, but are center-support, not angled like the original cases.
