Hello there. First time posting on Fenders Forum so please be nice. I've been wanting to create the "Greeny" phase reversal tone on my Deluxe Telecaster - ideally without having to add an additional switch. I've bought a DPDT switch but before I start soldering is there any OTHER way that anybody knows that this can be achieved? I've read online that if you dismantle the nick pickup and reverse the polarity????? Presumably this will mean having to break the solder under the pickup plate which I'm happy to do.
Any advice will be much appreciated?

Hi manalishi1980, welcome to the forum. You posted your question a while ago now so maybe you've solved your problem. There are others here who I'm sure can help you out.

The question may have remained unanswered, because it's actually a real tough one to answer.

The omnipotent interweb wisdom tells that the original Green's guitar was wired in the stock factory way. But one of the pickups was reverse polarity - supposedly a factory mistake. And early Mr. Green played a lot with neck pickup only, so what was the actual effect of the polarity..? BTW, of course that guitar was a Les Paul...

Now, I'm not at all sure that one could get a Green sound from a Deluxe (HH) Tele just by reversing the polarity of the neck pickup - according to a Premier Guitar article, Gary Moore with Peter Green's guitar sounded like Moore. So in short and very much IMHO, it's not the equipment, it's the player.
And honestly, I wouldn't recommend trying to reverse pickup polarity to anyone needing web advise to do it (sorry if that hurts, mamalishi, but my purpose is just to protect your guitar).

Plus, the electronic gidgets of these days may be an easier way to green sounds than modding a guitar.
