Hi all, new to the forum. Thanks in advance for any help.

I came across this Tele at work. It was packed away in a room that hasn't been touched in years.

The old boy who owns it asked if I wanted to buy it.

For various reasons I didn't have time to get many clear pics.

As I'm usually a strat man  . I'd appreciated a little help.

My best guess was either 80s Japan or possibly 1970s. But in all honesty a bit clueless. I did notice that its got a Buzz Fieten stamp on the back of the headstock, so could be some sort of frankentele. Anyway any help very welcome.

Pics can be found here

Many cheers

I'm only getting one image on that link... the front of the headstock.
That is not a 70s decal.
This is a Thinline, but this is a 70s decal.

And without the bullet adjuster.

The pics are in the album, let's see if they turn up on the forum:

On the guitar, the pics just aren't enough for a reliable ID, at least for me. There are too many blurred lines, not enough info. Checking the neck pocket/heel and electronics might help.
I don't think it's factory stock; re: the Buzz Feiten system. BTW, that BF serial, can't read the digits, but I'm guessing it's not the guitar's serial number.
If there is the Japan connection, the body could be from a TL-52 SPL, the neck from something else (like a 60's model). And in that case, the manufacturing year could be anything from the eighties to the nineties...

Cool... I wasn't getting his album earlier, just the headstock.
