I never cared for the Tele in the 70s and 80s... but lately I've been getting an itch for one. I played a Baja when I bought my AmSpec Strat and really liked it... I'll probably get one in the next year or two.

As a fellow resident of SoCal who owns a '13 American Special Strat, I fully support this itch for a Tele; specifically a Baja. I have a cheap Tele clone that I actually really like to play, but I'm on the lookout specifically for a Baja basically daily.

I was in absolute shock and never forget it. Anniversary and anniversary of our relationship in marriage.

Is the neck on the Baja as big as some seem to say it is? What’s it comparable too? More like a les Paul style neck? My strat seems pretty thin but I forget what style that neck is.

Yes, the neck on the Baja Tele is beefy. I like it a lot. It is thicker than a Les Paul and shaped differently. The "soft v" narrows the shoulders and makes it very comfortable. The Les Paul is rounded.

The Baja Tele '60s version has a thick c shape and is nothing like the original Baja.

It is definitely something you want to try before you buy. It's not for everyone. But I'm a big fan.....and a big fan of the Baja Tele in general.

Thanks for the reply! I’ll see if GC has one I can try.
