I've been seeing people rave about these for years.
The wife and I went into Guitar center just window shopping and as soon as I entered I see this 52 reissue looking Tele that was looking sharp on the wall.
So I plugged into a tweed Blues Jr and started banging away (easy on the banging I'm in for back surgery this week).
any way, WOW ! what a great sounding and playing Telecaster, I was really stunned.
I had just played a professional model a few days before in another city and almost took it home but wanted to think it through.
The wife saw the look on my face and looked at the sales dude and said "we'll take it".
Plus 36 months no interest on an empty gear card so...

Now that it's home and plugged into the 1968 Bandmaster its just awesome !

799.00 for a MIM ? I never would have thunk it LOL but man this guitar is very nice.

It didn't come with a manual so is there a diagram for the four way switch and S-1 ???
The internet seams to be confused about how it operates,

Glad to be back to share Fender stuff, it's been a while

BB

I was one of those Photo Bucket people who lost tons of pictures here and tried another that was a disappointment as well.

I'm not using and services that would allow me to post pictures here.

Sadly it's why I spend more time at TDPRI these days they host pictures on their page.

Sorry.

Congrats, great guitar! The four way switch goes as follows:

1. (pointing toward the bridge) Bridge pickup only
2. Bridge and neck pickups together (wired in parallel, as standard in most teles)
3. Neck pickup only
4. (pointing toward the neck) Bridge and neck pickups (wired in series, for a thicker, louder output)

Pressing the S1 switch on the volume knob puts positions 2 and 4 out of phase (it doesn't affect positions 1 and 3), giving you a total of 6 pickup combinations.

I find loading images to farcebook and copying a ross to be the most convenient but if you have loaded to another location you may still be able to copy the address into the image tag.

I have been looking at Bajas on eBay for some time but am sitting on my hands as I can't really justify another guitar. I really like the vintage vibe as it is almost an "Original" on the cheap. I'm a bit of a purist though and (if I got one) would be tempted to swap in traditional white guard switching.

Here is a link to my Google photos and a picture My daughter took this morning of me and the girls.

Both gifts from my lovely wife.

After two whole days of owning and playing the Baja I can say for sure it's as nice a Tele as I've owned and that is coming from someone who has owned a few from Squiers to Custom Shop stuff.

It's nice to have two sexy ladies on my lap !!! LOL :D

And both gifts from my wife 8)

I keep having to say this is one of the finest playing Telecasters I've ever played.
The four way switch and S-1 give so many options from what sounds like very traditional Tele tones to humbuckerish tones and a few in between.

For Blues, Classic Rock and Country this sweet thang fits the bill.

Classic 50's look and feel with modern playability.

Just like the vintage originals with a couple of player-friendly twists.

This really isn't helping my addiction and attempts to stop me buying one. I feel like an AA member at the Pub (Bar) currently.

LOL!!!!
I never cared for the Tele in the 70s and 80s... but lately I've been getting an itch for one. I played a Baja when I bought my AmSpec Strat and really liked it... I'll probably get one in the next year or two.

Congrats!

I fell under the Baja's spell 12 years ago during the spring of 2006 when they were first introduced and it has been love ever since. The Baja was the second Telecaster I ever bought and it's still one of my favorites. It was priced at $799 then just like it is now so it's still a good deal to get all that Custom Shop coolness at such a reasonable cost.

Let's see if my Flickr account is still flickering with a pic of my two Desert Sand finish Fenders. :)
