You know how it is when you see something on eBay "Buy it Now or Make a Offer" and you make a silly offer not expecting it to be accepted.

I have been pondering a Tele for some time but didn't really want to buy one just now. Still, might as well get a good one if your getting one.

Its a Z6 Highway One Texas and I'm pretty chuffed.

I have one and I think it's great. Versatile sound, though not too twangy. Hot vintage pickups. Better than twangy to me. I did put on a black pickguard. Scratchplate.ha

Black pick guard is certainly on the list. I might even go for the slotted screws.

I spent a happy hour or so decontaminating the beast yesterday. It was owned by a young man and goodness knows what bodily fluids were on it. The strings really should have gone in a biohazard bag.

As part of the clean I got a buffing wheel to it. The buffing has made it somewhat more glossy than its original satin but it looks pretty dang sweet as a result. And I know any future contaminants will be all mine.

The replacement pickguard I used is vintage one ply, five hole, black.

Indeed so. That was what I was getting, hence the comment about the slotted screws. Vintage guard, vintage screws.

Cheers 650. After a week together I am even happier with it than I was when I bought it home.

It has probably satisfied my Telecaster itch for the moment as it seems so good I fail to see how anything could be any better.
