Hello, I’m going to purchase the guitar named in the title:
https://shop.fender.com/en-US/electric- ... t=&start=1

Given that it is a Nitrocellulose finish, I would like to know what recommendations people would give for maintenance and cleaning of the guitar; is there any specific products I should/shouldn’t use? Certain methods?

Thank you

Page 27, it refers to a separate care and cleaning card that comes with the guitar.

For routine maintenance, just a damp (not dripping) microfiber cloth is all you should need.
The OTC spray guitar "polishes" are just fine (spray the cloth, not the body)
Avoid furniture polish or automotive waxes that contain silicone.

Basic things: wash your hands before playing, wipe the guitar & strings with a clean cloth when you stop. That way a guitar doesn't need a thorough cleaning very often.

But when it does, the politically correct(*) answer: use guitar cleaning/care products from your favorite manufacturer, but check that they have a "safe for nitrocellulose finishes" (or similar) marking. Fender has those, if you want to stay with the brand (shop.fender > accessories > care & cleaning).
I'll agree with the 'avoid silicone' above.

One day your guitar will get its first scratch/ding/dent. Don't panic then. And, nitro finished instruments do age - it's part of their charm.

(*) The old school way is cleaning with Zippo fluid.

Hi Johnny0206, welcome to the forum.

I have both a Classic 50s and 60s Teles, they are very fine instruments, you've made a good choice there.
