Hiya, I'm new to the forum. I live in Edinburgh, Scotland.

I have recently bought a 2012 US Standard Telecaster however I was slightly concerned when I noticed the neck plate was blank (not the usual Corona California stamp) so I took the neck off to check the neck pocket for any clues as to whether the body is actually a real US body.

I would love to have the opinion of any savvy US telecaster owners out there as to whether this looks right?

Um, check the other thread about this guitar.

Might be some sort of Fender body, but no Micro-Tilt means it's not an American Standard Tele body.

I suspect it's a HWY1 body.

Definitely a legit Flat Black Highway 1 body.

It's sunburst, not black. It looks glossy to me, though that might just be wear polishing.

Bigger issue is the date format as pointed out by jmattis in the other thread. US uses month/day/year -- that has day/month/year like Mexico uses.

Regardless, it was sold to the OP as an American Standard Tele. Without other pictures it's impossible to say if it's a partscaster with some AmStd parts, or some other model entirely.

But the OP's question was whether that's an Am Std body, and we all agree the answer to that is "no".

I think it's a partscaster made up from genuine Fender parts.

Therefore the OP should post pics from the neck to determine if this guitar is fake or not.
