Newbie here.

I am looking at a used 2014 mint condition CP60 sonic blue. Comes complete with a tweed hard case as a bonus (originals came with gig bag only).

The owner has several guitars including a 62 re issue and he claims this one for sale hasn't seen a lot of action....my impressions are that he is a straight up good guy that looks after his equipment.

He is asking $800 canadian (which would be around $600 usd).

Looking for advice on your thoughts on the value?

I was originally eyeing up the Jimi model as I love the reverse headstock look and the Olympic white/ maple board are desirable as well. It sells for $1200 Canadian new plus 13% which end up being over $500 more than the used CP60 and no bag! Thinking it might be a better option to grab the used one and put the savings towards a Blues Jr, Bassbreaker or HR Deluxe.

Thanks in advance for any feedback and opinions. I appreciate it.

I think you're talking about a strat (this is the tele forum).

I'm also in Canada. The Classic Player guitars are very nice for the price and $800.00 CDN would be a fair price for that guitar with a gig bag. The fact that this one includes a tweed case makes it a very good buy.

If you try the guitar and like it I'd say close the deal.

There is & was in 2014 the 'Classic Player Baja '60s Telecaster'.
2014 model (Faded Sonic Blue) sold on reverb.com for 650USD, so that 800CAD doesn't sound bad for a Tele, either.

On the Tele/Strat dilemma, can't help at all - they are very different, and only you know which you need&want. Both?
But: I'm no expert on Canadian prices. And check the usual legit/original/condition/ownership etc.

My apologies for this posting in the tele section....that was not my intention (not sure how that happened)!

The bad news is I missed out on this deal - someone else scooped her up before me!

Let the search continue!
