Hi to everyone,
I desperetaly need help for my 77 Tele Deluxe.
It's missing the original bridge and nobody seems to be able to tell me if the reissue bridge would fit (screw holes spacing, string spacing and all).
The external screw holes spacing on the body of the guitar is 40 mm.
I don't know what the string spacing is supposed to be.
Can anyone here help me?
In case the answer is positive, is the following the correct bridge to order?

Thanks a million for your help

Max

Aside from the saddles not being "period correct," I believe the string spacing on the '70s Tele Deluxe bridge was narrower than the "Strat" bridge pictured below.

The distance between the outer E strings on my Tele Deluxe bridge (below) is about an 1/8" narrower than the distance on any of my Strat bridges.

That means the holes drilled through your Tele Deluxe body will not align with the openings in the saddles.

Thanks Jac!
So, that means that the bridge I just ordered is just wasted money!

Hey Jac,
BTW, did your Tele Deluxe come with the pearloid pickguard or you replaced it after you bought it?
Is the guitar in Natural finish?
It looks beautiful from the little I can see!

Cheers

The string spacing is different than the new ones. The Hwy 1 uses the "vintage spacing" Vs. the "modern" bridge spacing. I think you might run into the same troubles. I went with a wilkilson it's nice but I was at first hoping for a modern type bridge. But I realy like the compensated saddles. Now the guitar is realy in tune. Peace. J.J.B.

Thanks, Max. I bought a natural '74 Tele Deluxe in about 1991. It had the stock black pickguard. By 1994, I was sick of the +10 lb. weight so I ordered a Warmoth swamp ash thinline body and put the guitar on a serious weight-loss program.

I fit the original neck, one pickup, and the bridge from the Tele Deluxe on the Warmoth body, cut my own pearloid pickguard and the result was this nice (featherweght), unique-sounding guitar.
