Hi everyone. I'm in the uk, and have a chance to buy a Japanese Telecaster, 2nd hand, described as FSR (Factory Special Run) 62 Tele Custom. Looks to be pretty much unused. It ticks almost every box I have in what i want in a new Tele: double bound, rosewood neck etc. My questions to anyone who owns a 2106 Japanese 62 custom, though, are as follows:
Specifically, how is the weight of this guitar? I have a Mexican tele that I love the feel of, but the weight is a real issue. I'm looking for a lighter guitar- is this 62 one that I should be thinking of?
Generally, any other comments? I like the action down low: is the 7.25 radius neck a problem for that? Any other comments?

(I should say that the guitar is in another country: if I could just play it myself for five minutes, these questions wouldn't need to be asked, obviously.)

Thanks in advance- any help appreciated.

Hi, welcome to the forum.

In answer to your questions firstly weights of teles can vary quite a bit, some are lighter than others you could always ask the seller to weigh it and tell you how heavy it is. And you wouldn't have any problem setting it up with a low action.

I hope some of that helps.

On the 'low action' part, the age old trick with curved fretboards is to "flatten the radius" at the bridge saddles a bit - e.g. 7.25" on the nut, 10" at the saddles. And keep the relief on the as-little-as-possible level.
And of course, the low action chase means the frets need to be in perfect condition.
