I clicked your link, and got the usual photobucket treatment - started with five pop-ups, at that point I closed the page. Only speaking for myself here, but: helping via photobucket becomes just too much trouble.

So, please use another pic host site. On this forum, it works best if you get the pic address (starts with http, ends with jpg) and then use the IMG-command (you see it when you write a post) to post pics on the forum. The preview button is handy also.

Look a modified Tele or made with many parts.

I can't see the truss rod access at the body side .
Post picture direct on forum.
As Jmattis write , avoid Photobucket, it work very bad

OK 84whiteONwhite, you answered my call (thanks), so gotta try my best.

Checked the original ad ( https://wilmington.craigslist.org/msg/d ... 96295.html ); the price is probably a little high for a Partscaster in the US, but the ad says or best offer.
The guitar may be a great player; what's in it looks good, but the explanations are a bit vague.

To me, looks like a Mexican neck (Classic series 60s neck), although the serial number is too small for reading. The body... just now, I don't recall a double bound 3TSB model with black (not burst) backside.
Would be nice to see pics of the neck pocket, and electronics (solderings tell a lot of how skilled the mod master was). And the bridge is Wilkinson, not Wilkerson - and liking/disliking the short plate is a very personal matter.

I appreciate the looking and feedback.

The neck, just guessing, looked like a legit MIM classic 60's.

The body is off...looking at the pictures (which aren't the best quality, granted). The color on the back is odd, as you mentioned. And the bridge pup route looks kind-of funny to me, specifically the color and texture of the cross section of wood in the route looks, unfinished...and has a (dare I say) plywood look to it.

I'm not really interested in buying it, although it does look good...I'm just trying to educate myself a little on Teles....paving the way for a future purchase most likely. :)

Wow, you sure chose a puzzle to start with...

My line of thoughts with the body:
To me, the pics are too lo-res to say it's plywood. No conductive paint, though.
I thought of a MIJ (TL-62 types) body, but the jack area doesn't seem right. Squier CV Custom, different backside color. AVRI 62, the price alone says no. Signature models, none that seems to fit exactly. Aftermarket (licenced) body - possible. "Fakes" of course one possibility, but: double bound at this price, would it be worth the trouble in the US..?
So, I remain puzzled - especially since the ad & the guitar aren't alarming in any usual 'it's fake' ways.

One good way to Tele-ID-101 is to read this forum's (and tdpri.com's) "help ID this guitar" topics. The Search function (above) is very useful.
