Hi TekHousE,

what kind of body has your telecaster? That grain is very distinctive!

Hi, It is a "Lamboo" tele, one of the 60th Anniversary ones. For the record and for those that still don't get it, these bodies are ALDER! NOT Bamboo, the 'Lamboo' name comes from 'Laminated Bamboo', it is a veneer on the front and back...

And to go further, NO, the neck is not bamboo..it is Maple.

It seems that Fender misrepresented this guitar in their original descriptions, so all sorts of talk sprung up about them being made of bamboo.. LOL

Hope that helps mate..

I really like that, that is very cool!

Ditto.
I remember taking my cheap tele wannabe back in the early seventies and doing a red-white-blue paint job to try and look like Buck. I love the look of this one. Did you buy it like that or do it yourself?

I bought it new. They came with gold hardware which I never thought looked right.

The pickups and pickguard came from Harmonic Design. The rest I just replaced with Fender chrome hardware. You can still see the gold input socket which was the one thing I never replaced.

Thought it came out looking pretty good.

Here are mine - 2011 Classic 72 Thinline, 2004 Telecoustic and a 2012 Modern Player Thinline. I put a black pickguard on the 72 thinline so it would look like the one I owned back around 1974. :)

Thanks! The telecoustic really isn't in the same league as the others, I got it used for $150, just for fun. It has a neck and action like an electric but I can still hear it without plugging in. :)

OK. Not really a Tele, but she sure sounds sweet for an 18 year old imitation. And she fits one of those molded 80's/90's Fender cases (with the red/white Fender logo) anytime we travel. Crafted in U.S. of A.

Peavey stopped making this model not long after I acquired it.

Here are mine:

The first one is a Candy Apple Red 2011 Mex Standard Telecaster. The second one is a butterscotch blonde Japanese TL52 from the mid-late '80s. I love both of them to death. I've had the BSB since 1995 and I've had the Standard since May. They're very different guitars: the TL52 has a V neck, vintage frets, and vintage tuners. The Mex Standard has a regular C neck, jumbo frets, and modern tuners. The TL52's bridge has been changed to a 6 saddle, although I may go back to the 3 saddle bridge.

I've turned my brother into a Fender man (he was a Gibson man and owns a bolt-on Epiphone "Special" Les Paul but he prefers his Fenders. He has a couple of Strats and he wants a Blacktop Tele so bad that he can taste it.

Take a look:

Classic series '69-MIM -2011 - bought new

'69 RI - MIJ 1985/86 . I put in a DiMarzio Twang King in neck position - very happy with that choice :D The MIM is just sounding great out of the box . The neck profiles are very different. I would say the MIJ has got a C-profile , whilst the MIM is claimed to be an U-shape. IMO it feels more like D....? Anyways - love them equally ! One in ash , and one in mahogany :D
