After a 15 year hiatus from electric guitars, I just picked this one up and I'm back in a big way. I've owned a bunch of guitars Fender and otherwise, but I just can't get over a Tele.

I never even considered owning a mahogany tele until I got it in a trade form my American Special Strat. It is by far the best Tele I've ever owned. It has an amazing workhorse appeal about it with the natural no gloss finish and the well used neck and hardware. She's seen some action but it just adds character to the Guitar. I just love it. :)

Haven't posted in a while, so here is an update of a couple of Fender Custom Shop Telecaster.

I've also picked up a few "non" Fender brand T style guitars, which you can see on my gear link...

A Dakota Red (all Fender parts) partscaster, I just put together.

The neck may look familiar...

Csapo - very cool! Where'd you find the bound body and a GE Smith neck? They look good together!

On another note... I recently scored a 2002 '69RI Thinline Candy Apple Red like you have in your collection. After drooling over your collection of that series the past few years, I've been wanting to hunt those down for my own collection. What are the hardest colors to find? I've heard various figures tossed around about the production numbers.

Thanks!

RickyD

Thanks very much, Ricky.

Nice score on the 2002 '69RI CAR Thinline. They are tough to find. Over the last few years, I've probably seen more of the Lake Placid Blue Thinlines come available. Second would probably be a tie between the CAR, Shell Pink and Daphne Blue. The rarest one seems to be the Surf Green.

I have heard production numbers from 15 each (in this very forum, I believe) to 100 of each, to 200 of each produced. I tend to go with the 100 of each, but this could easily be very incorrect...
