[quote="john.bohn"]I have played and owned Strats for more than 40 years but I'm a relative newcomer to Teles. Caught the Tele bug after buying a MIM Standard in 2005 and it's been going strong since then. I'm up to 7 Teles now but these two are my favorites.
For vintage goodness, an American Vintage '52 Reissue bought in January 2011.

And I thank you again. I put a few drool marks on that '52 Reissue when I first unboxed it but it's safe now. :)

Hello To all! Ive wanted a Telecaster since I started playing 31 years ago but it just never happened until this weekend!!!!!!!!

A friend of mine brought this one over and I lit up like a Christmas tree when I played it. At first not really knowing Fender guitars . The sound was better than I expected and I fell deeply in love with the guitar (not my buddy LOL) so I went ahead and bought it with the original hard case.

I thought it was just a customized regular Telecaster with an aftermarket Strat neck----Happily, a little web research proved me wrong :) It's actually a 1977 (I think) Telecaster Deluxe!!! The Floyd Rose type of bridge as nice as it is for rock solid tuning is a rather "unfortunate Upgrade"

I bought it for the love of the sound and like my other instrument will likely have it for 20-30 years but knowing what I know now I'm thinking I should restore it as closely as possible to original specs. Does anyone have any thoughts?

at first glance I see also Pot knob issues and of course there will be some holes in the body from the mods.

Thanks

I'm not sure why you felt it was important to show the "50 year Anniversary sticker." There's are thousands of other Fender guitar models with the same sticker.
