Okay, I'll play.

Here's my current Telecaster, which I assembled from Fender parts.

I got really lucky last night. Went to my local Fender dealer and picked up a new Pro Junior and a new 08 MIM Tele for less than $700.

he actually built it from parts. he says it is "A mash up of my two fave teles, a '66 Tele Custom and '52"

He posted about it on My Stupid Mouth. I'll copy the specs later when I get home. pretty slick tele though. I even tried to buy it off him! love the way the tuners look.

I'm in the market for a Tele. I'm thinking just build my own version of a '51 Butterscotch Nocaster, or get the Texas Tele. how do those play?

Thanks. I'll save chanman246 the trouble.

Not a Custom Shop, just parts...

Body - from a Chandler tele, parted out. String thru body and routed for 2 single coils
Neck - Allparts tinted with skunk stripe and vintage radius, button string tree (previous owner attached the Fender logo)
Tuners - Kluson Vintage with white buttons
Pick Ups - Lollar Vintage
Bridge & Saddles - Fender Vintage with 3 Barrel Brass Saddles
Pick Guard - Aged single ply white 5 hole
Control Plate - Fender 3 way switch with white barrel switch tip and barrel knobs, wired modern

The body is routed for a jack cup but the body came with a jack plate came installed. If I installed a jack cup, there would be screw holes (from the jack plate) on the body. Decided to just leave it.

Ajay - nice new aquisition. Gorgeous!!!!!

Thanks, Troublecall.
It's my first Tele, and I still have to get used to the
neck pickup sound. It's definitely different than other
Teles I've heard.

It has the stock vintage setup now.
I'm trying to see if I could have bridge/neck
series in mid position without changing out
the switch... is this possible?

Thanks!

Probably my favourite Fenders are those made in the mid 90s. Especially so are the Tele Plus model. This one is a 1996 (50th Anniversary) which was the first model to have the three lace sensor pickups spaced a la Strat.
