I see that you have an old Peavey. My first guitar was T-26.

That is a Patriot that was inherited from my Dad! Many great memories and times!
I also have a black G5120 lent out to my brother.

I just picked this "new," 2009 Fender '52 American Vinatage Tele up yesterday.
I have no understanding how this large, national music store, had a "new," four year old guitar in stock.
Despite the missing case candy, I have no reason to believe that the guitar was previously owned, and several clues suggest that it is indeed 2009 NOS.

I saw this Tele on Labor Day, September 2, for $1,349.00, which I thought was a good price.
A lot of people seem to not like the small frets on these Teles.
I love the lack of speed bumps!!
The set-up and action is tremendous, and the guitar plays great.

I layed it away with $400.00 down with a 10% discount, which I thought was great.
By the time I picked it up yesterday, October 12, these pre-September 2012 '52AVRI guitars, had gone down in price in the music store computer system, to a close-out price of $980.00!!

SCORE!!! Especially when the 2013's are twice that much, and when I like the darker butterscotch color better than the new lighter ones!!

Some time ago I also bought a brand new guitar from a shop which turned out to be around four years old (but still brand new). Ever since I've kept an eye on certain guitars in shops and have noticed that quite a few of them are still on the wall in the shop some years since I first saw them. I don't think any shop or certainly not any that I've seen here in the UK have a high turnover of the higher end guitars such as Fenders.

A good example would be that almost every one of the Telebration series that I've seen in a shop is still there on it's stand or on the wall since it's release in 2011/12.

Greetings All,

I picked up a Cabronita Thinline a couple of weeks ago and have had a tough time putting it down! You don't need me to wax poetic about how great it is -- here's a pic!

And here's a shot next to its 1989 Strat Plus cousin.

Rock on!

Dave.

Why, thank you sir! Likewise, indeed!

Yes. It's a Stratocaster Plus that I purchased in 1990. It's an incredibly well-made guitar, and I have to say that the Cabronita holds its own against it. Both are fun to play and have very different sounds.

Cheers,
Dave.
