Hey looking for some info on a Tele thinline neck, picked up a telecaster bitsa as part of a trade, nice guitar considering the mismatch of parts.
Cant find any info on the neck? Gold Fender logo with black outline - black TELECASTER THINLINE, has the "skunk stripe" but no truss rod adjustment at either end? wondering if it could be an older neck or faker.

At least for me, any real help is impossible without pics.
And additional info; like which Tele Thinline model is it supposed to be, any serial number, age(/period), country of origin and so on...

First thing that comes to mind is fake, but even fake necks tend to have a truss rod. Plus, even for a faker, what would be the point of a skunk stripe without the metalworks?
So, no answer yet. Sorry.

Hey thanks for the reply, I'm new so bear with me trying to figure out how to upload a pic here?
I was leaning towards it being a faker but one that was made some time ago as it has some age to it and I cleaned quite a bit on finger grease off it so its been around, but no serial number and no markings on the butt end. Butt end has a small hole (3 or 4 mm) not really big enough for a screwdriver or Allen key, more like a center hole for fabrication. Yes I agree that there's no reason for the stripe especially as it has a rosewood fretboard, not one piece, seems like a waste of work making a fake.

The hole you're talking about, is it on the side of the neck heel? That could be a "Gotoh Side-Adjuster" hole.
Otherwise, pics needed...

Pic posting on the forum:
Quote:
First you need to upload your pics to the internet. Use a pic hosting site (imgur, imgbb or such - avoid photobucket) or some common web framework like e.g. facebook, googlephotos - whatever you're familiar with.
The important thing is that the web site provides you with a pic address - that's the one starting with 'http' and ending in '.jpg'.

Copy the pic address, and use the IMG-command (visible when you write a message) on the forum.

Preview your post so everything is OK.

I will get it apart to get pics of the heel end. The small hole is located on the end where you would expect the adjustment screw to be.

That doesn't seem to belong to any FMIC product I know of, but I'll wait for the additional pics. Back of the headstock, too, please.
BTW, since it's Tele styled, I'll choose to answer on this topic, not the one on'all other guitars' section https://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=109019

And if you get the image address (starts https, ends jpg), you can post pics on the forum. Like this:
