Installed a new super switch in a modern player plus telecaster and now it has low volume. Any ideas?

Could be anything - bad soldering, wrong diagram, faulty parts...
Post (a lot) more info if you want better answers.

+1000

Matt1982,

1- Show the diagram you use
2- Show picture under the pickguard
3- Do you have some skill on electronic solder ?

I use a soldering iron pretty regularly.
But i am now wondering if my volume pot could be bad since the old switch that i replaced came apart while i was using it and maybe shorted it out? Switch is very simple to wire so i think i can rule that out of being the problem.

Do you have a meter to read the volume pot ?
I guess not :(

You can sometimes "cook" a pot during a modification or repair to the wiring.
It happens when you get the metal housing hot enough for long enough that the conductive material on the disc softens and either drips off or is scraped off by the wiper.
If you fail to get a sound connection on the body of the pot it is wise to wait until the whole pot cools right down to room temp before trying again.

Hopefully, that is the issue.
It would be a bunch easier and cheaper to replace a pot than a super-switch.

Take some clear, high resolution detail pics of your work and post them here for examination.
I'm sure one or more of us can help you get this sorted out if we can plainly see what's going on.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Did you check the pot with a meter before ordered ?

To destroy a pot with soldering iron you must want to do it. It is not easy

The problem was low volume. Bypassing the vol pot would tell if the problem is elsewhere...
