You need more detailed pics to be sure.
Serial dater says 1966.
Seems from the photos only the front stripped is that the case?
I don't get why the second shot of the neckplate is shot in a different location
Pickguard prob changed.
If you are considering a purchase and have only these to go by I would be very wary.
If it were me I would want closeups of the bridge, the neck pocket the neck back and heel and the pickguard off. :D

Original Esquire don't have bridge pickups.
Is it a Esquire body with mod or a Telecaster body with Esquire neck ?

A look under the pickgard is a must

Neck decal look a 69 decal not a 66 . Pat number is missing under Fender
( The FenderTelecaster by A.R. Duchossoir , page 49 )

The pictures are of two guitars.
The 60s instruments don't have skunk stripes.

It's looking us in the face, and it seems most of us missed that

Middle picture, the routed out channel in the back of the neck has a walnut fillet inserted - that's a skunk stripe

So, to the OP, does it matter that someone fitted EMGs?
It's not a vintage piece
Faked neck plates can be bought on Ebay

Yep valid point and one I had overlooked.
Should not have the skunk so totally fake.
The photos seem to be of two different guitars as well! :D

Rosewood capped necks made after Spring 1969 usually feature a contrasting back stripe and a plug above the nut. (A. R. Duchossoir)

Yep thats true I have that book but the serial is much lower indicating an earlier vintage.
Prob should have f tuners for 69 as well which it appears to but there are always exceptions so I take back my totally fake statement :(
Parts? Guess we will never know!
Without solid evidence i.e. more pics and a bit of history from the owner I am still wary. :D

It's often an education, playing on a forum like this.
Find me a Strat with a Walnut plug and Skunk Stripe.....
Which means that I'm probably wrong with my last post (it won't be the first time, and it won't be the last, either).

It looks like the guitar might well be period correct.
The pictures, however, show a guitar with a stripped finish, and a guitar with a coloured finish, and in all likelihood we're still left looking at two separate guitars.
