I contacted Fender about the COA, I have one now ( I just need the guitar back now ) oddly enough I made some enquires to the same guy about the little Fender bag. "what's it all about? is this a new fender thing? specific to this model or all new artist models?" he didn't have a clue and asked "did I not get one" I was tempted to say no to get another but I said yes and left it at that.
does anyone know about it ??

When I am at the Namm Show in January, I will get with one of the Fender reps and ask them about the little red bag that we received with the George Harrison Telecaster.

Has anyone received their Harrison this month? Is the original production of 1,000 still being made?

Here is mine just received two days ago. #60. Had a little heartburn over the natural knot near the bridge. ("Why me?") Everyone assures me it's still a keeper. What do you think? Gracias Amigos!

I would keep it, since it is a natural knot in the wood and not a ding. I think it would be very hard to get another guitar and this time of year I would not want to ship a guitar and then have to wait for another one to arrive, if at all there is another one. Enjoy your guitar. :D

If there's a replacement, would it be perfect? You'll get used to it and it's not a defect in production or finish. Just a natural knot that shows it's made of wood. You could do worse.

Guys, I'm still having a rough time with this days later. I cannot find a picture anywhere on the internet of a GHRT with anything like this. I don't even want to open the case. I have written to Fender again. Sorry... I just have to vent.

Go back to the store where you bought the guitar and talk with the sales manager. They should be able to get in touch with their Fender sales rep and help you out. Just remember that this time of year, Fender is very busy and with the past Thanksgiving holiday, a lot of the reps might still be on vacation. :D

This picture makes it look a lot more obvious. I wouldn't be happy with that, especially for that kind of money.

I thought about buying one and If I did and that blemish was there I don't think I would be to happy spending $2,500 for it and would probably send it back

If you are not happy, it's a no brainer.
Take it back.
1000 is a pretty big run.
You'll get another one.
And if by chance you don't, you'll get something else.

Did you take your guitar back and get a replacement?

I hope Fender will make more of these guitars, so everyone who wants one will be able to buy one. I was lucky to have mine ordered the day I saw it at the summer Namm Show. Otherwise I would probably be like a lot of people trying to find one for sale.

I don't understand what is the big deal about a production number! If there are more of these being produced, I think that is great for those who weren't able to get one when this guitar first came out. No matter what Fender does, there is always someone that won't be happy. I think Fender is doing a great job and I am hoping that maybe someone in their marketing department will have a Beatle Sonic Blue Strat produced, like John Lennon had. Keep up the great work Fender and see you in a few weeks at the Namm Show! :D
