Hi there! :)

I own the Squier Avril Lavigne Signature Telecaster, it has got 1 humbucker, 1 volume and a 3-way switch.
I'm planning on upgrading the electronic parts with a Switchcraft input jack, a new 500K pot and a 3-way switch - but I have a question...

The current wiring is done without a capacitor, so I guess I would just go and do the same, but would it be possible to solder a capacitor to the wiring, and what would it do??
What's the difference? :)

Thanks & Cheers!

The AL Sig (contrary to the missus herself *grin*) is wired real simply.
No tone means you get all highs all the time. If you feel you get what you want, keep it as it is.

But if you feel rolling down the volume makes the sound change too much, you could experiment with "treble bleeds" - some like them, some don't. There are plenty options available, google around.
This "Akimod" would be my recommendation:

Edit: Checked the AL wiring diagram; the pot is B500K, which is linear. Note that the Akimod is for logaritmic = A500K pots.
