I have a problem with my American Deluxe, N3 Bridge pickup. The movement of my right little finger or edge of right hand across the pick guard creates crackling, popping noises.
I've played through Princeton, Twin, & HRD so it's not the amp. I've put a dryer sheet (for static cling) under the pick guard. I've taken it to a Luthier who said it wasn't properly grounded and the N3 bridge pickup was bad and replaced it. I have other guitars, so I didn't play it for a while and now I'm realizing it still crackles.
Also, I have a Strat with N3s and have no problem.
Can anyone give me some guidance?

Logically, the pickup wasn't a) bad and b) the cause of the crackles.

I'm guessing static problems. Instead of a dryer sheet under the pickguard, try wiping the pg with it - if the problem disappears/diminishes, the diagnose is just about confirmed.
In that case, for longer term solution: Many Strat pickguards have conductive foil in the backside; you could do the same with the Tele pg. Cut the foil so it grounds via the control plate.

Are you using a bridge plate under the pickup? Check the bridge ground, maybe re-flow the solder.
