Hello guys

I'm going to try out this used Telecaster tomorrow, but not getting any hits on the Serial No. using the search function on fender.com

It's supposedly a Fender American Standard Telecaster from 2010 or 2011

You can view pictures of it here: http://www.dba.dk/elguitar-fender-telec ... 028132915/

Here's the picture of the headstock that the seller provided: Image

So is it really a US American standard? I have one from 2016 that has US in front of the Serial No, but they may have differed between production years, I guess.

Cheers

On the serial number, quoting from Fender Support/Product dating/American instruments:
Quote:
A new serial numbering scheme was adopted toward the end of 2009 using the number “10” as a prefix, followed by a space, followed by seven digits.

So, the form of the serial is OK. And the usual reminder: one should never trust a serial number alone when judging legit/fake issues.
One funny thing: https://www.fender.com/product-registra ... ial-search page doesn't seem to recognize the 10-prefix numbers - tested this and two others I know are legit. (= Note to website crew...)

The pics on the dba.dk ad are a bit too low res to tell for sure, but the on a quick glance the guitar looks to be a legit "011-0502-700 American Standard Telecaster Maple Neck, 3 Tone Sunburst".
The price; 7000 DKK (about 950 in real monetary units) for the guitar, HSC and a Fender G-Dec 3.0 tredive (30W) amp seems low for Denmark/Scandinavia, so the seller is in a hurry or... well, I'll not start guessing. Anyways, might be wise to check the background story as far as you can.

Embedding pics on the forum goes with the .jpg address, like this:

It is unusual to see a one piece ash body on a Fender.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Keep in mind that the ad was put up in October last year, so the price might reflect that, and a lowball bid of 6000 zorkmids back in April might have reduced the asking price too.
At any rate, the guitar looks fine.
