Howdy y'all.

I have been looking for a decent telecaster for a while, and I recently found one on craigslist. It's about 3 hours from where I live and I am willing to make the drive if it's worth it.

In the pictures they posted of the neck and and all that, I can tell that the neck is at least a Japanese neck according to the stamps and clear markings on it. The body, I'm not so sure about! It has this weird stamp on the neck pocket of what looks like a badger playing a guitar. Very weird.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I don't want to drive 6 hours round trip to find out this thing is bunk.

Thank you so much!

That ain't a badger, it's a Turtle. Tells it's a Warmoth body, I'd guess from around 2000 era, +10 years.

With a (possibly) Japanese Fender (Squier?) neck, electronics & hardware of unknown origin, no info on who made it and with what skills etc; it's impossible to tell if the guitar is decent or if the drive is worth it.
If you want a real opinion on that, don't be skimpy with the info - original listing & all photos are the minimum. And pics in the forum, not behind an outside link. Like this:

Some first posts from new members seem to have had a real long delay before they're published (yours included) so sorry for the late answer.

Non-Fender T-style guitars can be good too.
I would not turn down a Tom Anderson or Suhr, but this one I'd give a pass. Too much unknown about it.

Agreed. What is your budget for a Tele?
