Hello! I'm confused 'cause i want to buy 52 Hot Rod Tele, but I'm not sure if it isn't the faked one. Can anybody confirm its authenticity, please?
I found this guitar on german ebay and I want to drive to check Tele on the spot. However, I'm not familiar with Fender Guitars and would like to know what to pay attention to? I've found out that 52 Hot Rod has serial number only on bridge plate and the numbers on neck and body corresponds to date of production and part number, but there isn't Fender Service Diagram of 52 Hot Rod Tele. Should Hot Rod inscription be on the neck in every case, like on this photo?

Unfortunately, I've got only these photos from seller. No photos of the neck with Hot Rod tag or pots, but maybe do You see something worrying?

I am quite dubious about one thing. Seller wrote it is late 90's production but when I asked about neck-pocket photos he changed description on 2007.

PS Sorry for my grammar mistakes, I do my best.

The markings raise no alarms. But it's an expensive instrument, so maybe a couple pics more; full frontal/back, headstock both sides, pickups/wiring/pots etc.

And many members don't like (or even open) outside links, so post pics right here on the forum, like this:

I would be concerned too, because that may indicate that he didn't know, and may have obtained the guitar through illegal means. Asking for receipts or other provenance is in order, as well as submitting the serial number to a search of stolen gear. If there's a local pawn shop nearby, they can likely help you with that for a small fee.

Check the seller's reputation in ebay, if he/she/it has previous sales.
And there's the 1 Monat Widerrufsrecht with Geld zurück mit dem eBay-Käuferschutz from ebay.de.

The guitar (still) looks legit. And nice.
