Hi everyone

I just found a guy who sells his Mexican telecaster for quite a good price. He says he bought it last year but when I enter the serial it says it's manufactured in 2013 or 2014. That doesn't bother me though.

I have received a handful of pictures. I haven't had it in my hands yet though. It's a bit of a long drive so wanna make sure you people give me the A-OK before I go get it. It looks legit to me after reading some articles how to detect a fake (fender sticker etc) but would really want to be sure. It's my first Fender guitar. Still a Mexican but would like to have it in meantime because I am still saving for an American Strat.

The pics can be seen at : https://www.dropbox.com/sh/bivu91sxy5g1 ... cQ5Oa?dl=0

Thank you very much in advance fellas, rock on!

Christophe

My answer can be read at: http://www.WhyDonchaPostThePicsToTheForum?.why

But seriously, the guitar looks OK for a Mexican 2013 Standard Telecaster® Left-Handed, 014-5122-532 Brown Sunburst.

The (neck) serial tells the true (neck) construction year, give or take a month or so either way. It's quite possible the seller bought it last year, guitars can sit in the shop for years. Anyways, IIRC, the specs were the same in 2013 and 2016.

Might be a good move to ask why the guy is selling the guitar he's only owned for a year or so. Absolutely not referring to this seller in any way, but "the guys" don't always have the best reputation.

As said, looks legit. And especially left-handed guitars can sit in a store for a while before being sold.
Still, ask to see a receipt if in any doubt. If the price is suspiciously low, it could be hot.

Thanks a lot for your responses. This reassures me. Really appreciate it.

Dude sells it for 350 euro. I meet him on Sunday and will ask for the invoice of his purchase. Will also ne able to test it first so am confident.

Thx a bunch!

Also noticed he also sells his American black tele but at the moment too expensive. Will indeed ask why the sudden sell of those 2 guitars
