Hi to all Tele players. I recently bought an original Fender Telecaster neck made in mexico (rosewood fretboard).
The neck is just beautiful, the problem is that I cannot adjust the truss rod.
The size of the allen wrench I have do not fit this particular one.
I must say I have many of them and I regularly use them for my Squier Jazzmaster and other guitars.

Any hint of the size and maybe a link to a website where I can find one ?

Thanks

Do you know what model Tele that neck is from?

Anyways, Fender's imperial truss rod wrench sizes are 1/8" (e.g. US made) and 3/16" (e.g. many MIMs; try this first), on metrics I've seen 4mm, 4,5mm and 5mm (e.g. Far East, Asia). Exceptions on location/key are possible (of course, with Fender), but those sizes should cover all F-guitar truss rod nuts.

Edit: Most hardware shops have sets of hex keys on the shelf. Get a set of both imperial and metric, choose good quality - and the longer ones are handy to reach between strings on the headstock.

Google say 3/16"

http://stratcat.biz/tools.shtml

You can buy them at any good hardware store, be aware of cheap tools, they mays not fil tight and may damage truss rod nut.

If you bought a second hand neck, nut could be damaged !

You did not live in North America ? 3/16 is close to 2.3 mm : WRONG , it is more than 4.5 mm
Bring your guitar to the hardware store.
Is is a second hand neck or a brand new one ?

4.7625 mm, actually - a 4.75 mm hex wrench / key will fit.

I live inside the metric system, but have never seen such a tool. In this standardized matrix, half mm steps are all they give us.

Metric size are 3mm, 4mm, 5mm. No 4.5mm

In North America this 3/16 allen wrench cost + - $0.75 . Shipping one to you may cost $ ?
You did not answer;
1- Where you live.
2- If you bought a second hand neck

Neck new ; truss rod nut should be in good shape. A second hand may be damaged.
I love Italy, I went them 4 times , I'm from Canada.

Did you adjust a truss rod before or it is you first time ?

You're just wrong about the 4,5mm.
Standard metric Hexagon keys (ISO2936 or DIN911) come in 0,5 mm increments between 2 to 6 mm sizes. Even US manufacturers have those; check out e.g. Bondhus BLX15M (set, consists of 1,27/1,5/2/2,5/3/3,5/4/4,5/5/5,5/6/7/8/9 and 10 mm keys)

Well, the sets I have don't come in this sizing. So I'm not wrong :-)
