The Telecaster is known for its bright, cutting tone. One of the secrets to the Telecaster's sound centers on the bridge pickup, which has more windings than the neck pickup and hence has a much higher output. yheaaaaaa|..|

Agreed, classic tones. Rolling Stones = classic example of Tele Tone!

We all love the middle switch, it gives us the best that two pups can offer

You're not the only one who uses a tele and doesn't always have the twangy sound. I have a thinline with two humbuckers, and it's a much more warmer sound (which I love). But I like that sound, because I play rhythm.

I'm currently having issues with pedals. There seems to be no way to use a pedal and not sap the Tele's awesome tone.

Ahhh, the things we have to live with to get into effects...

The problems we create. The tele used to be pure as the white driven snow. Now we muddy up with all sorts of pedals and modeling amps. Used to be you used your fingers and volume/tone buttons for distortion. Guess we owe it all to Les Paul and Mr. Moog and of course Hendrix

Sly Stone used a Thinline Tele to record "Thank You For Lettin' Me Be Myself Again". Listen to the sharp twang of his guitar along with a wah paddle. Man Oh Man! FUNKY! Hey you young boys. It's time to go to school.
