Guys. Hope one of you might know. Modern Player Telecaster, HSS configuration.A guy is selling one and basically I want to fit it with a couple of humbuckers of mine. Does anyone know what the routing body routing would be on it? Would it have one big gap for all the pickups like some strats do, or would it have routings for each individual pickup. If the latter, I may not buy as I'm not keen on doing routing myself... I have asked the guy but he's not come back to me... it's going cheap and I'm afraid he's going to let it go to someone else!!!

The HSS (if it's original) means it's a MP Tele Plus. Routing then is HSS (individual routings for humbucker+single+single), see link below.
MP Tele Plus Body reverb.com

BTW, don't panic. There will be other Teles for sale you like. And remember, an exceptionally cheap price often means a) mods done or b) problems with the guitar (& sometimes even c) fake).

I would walk away from Chinese made Fenders. You can get a good used MIM Tele for about the same price.

With the huge number of guitars for sale, you can probably even find one that has the humbucker flavor you want already on-board, which saves you the cost of buying an extra pickup.

One thing to note about the Modern Player necks/neck joints: the 22nd fret is not on a "lip" ("overhang", whatever you want to call it) as in "normal" Fenders; the neck heel is full thickness to the end and the body is routed to this.
Probably causes trouble if one wants to change the neck or body at some point.
