At a local pawn shop today i seen the fender Telecaster body... with some phony neck and head... its obvious that someone replaced the regular Telecaster neck with this piece but i wonder if this body is an actualy fender or a copy...
the store is selling it for 160$ but i know the owner and can probably get a deal for 100$
My question for everyone is, how can i be sure if this is the real deal... if its a fender made body... because if it is i plan on buying it and getting the right headstock for it.,, it has nice pickups and paint job... the pickups look original... its just the neck thats out of place... is there serial numbers for the pickups or on the back of the bridge/saddle plate i can check...

p.s. do you have a link to find years with the serial numbers and... hmm ya thats enough lol please and thank anyone for there help...

I think on the inside of backplate there is a serial number.

Dude for $100 who gives a hoot if it's a Fender body and electronics. Even if it isn't replace all the innards give it a nice paint job and a new All Parts or Warmoth Fender licensed neck. Throw on a refinsh and you still have a deal.

Go with the Warmoth neck. I have build one complete Warmoth guitar, and the quality is top of the line.
